Holland State Park, Millennium Park, and Grand Haven Park are just a few of the beautiful places to spend the day relaxation by the water. You can make it a family event and attend the Coast Guard Festival on July 28th-August 2nd. The festival offers exciting attractions and games for all ages.

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

One of the world's 100 most-visited art museums and one of the top 30 must see museums in the world. This 158 acre indoor and outdoor park provides a signicant sculpture and bontanical experience for all ages.

Grand Rapids Public Museum

One of the oldest museums in the United States, the Grand Rapids Public Museum offers fascinating collections from the past and
present. One of the most popular attractions is a ride on the carousel that has been around since 1928.

Grand Rapids Art Museum 
Free admission from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Commonly known as the GRAM, this building is the first newly constructed ‘green’ museum in the United States. It holds collections from Renaissance to Modern Art, with a special focus on 19th and 20th century European and American art. You can drop in on any Saturday for family fun activities.

Opening Ceremony
Van Andel Arena
starts 7:30 pm

This ticketed will feature the parade of athlete, entertainment and the lighting of the cauldron. All athletes and attendees need an Opening Ceremony ticket to attend.

  Movies in the Park
Starts at dusk
Ah-Nab-Awen Park 

Check out the free Friday night feature outside at this riverside park. Ah-Nab-Awen Park is a short walk across the Gillett Bridge from the DeVos Place. Movie title to be announced.

Saturday, August 5

Berlin Raceway 

Check out the Friday night race at the Berlin Raceway. This premier racing facility that was established in 1950. It is notable for not having an outside wall on the back straightaway. The Berlin Raceway will host the Time Trial Cycling Event on Sunday.

DeVos Place: Judo, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Wrestling, Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Yoga, Weightlifting, Skateboarding, Freestyle BMX, Darts, Pinball, Biliards and Boxing.

  Coast Guard Festival Fireworks
Grand Haven, Michigan

Head down to Coast Guard City, USA's boardwalk to see the grand finale fireworks of the weeklong Coast Guard Festival. This fireworks extravaganza also features a performance of Grand Haven's Musical Fountains.

SMG Late Night Lounge
DeVos Place Ballroom

Located next to the Darts, Pinball, Billiards and Boxing competitions the SMG Late Night Lounge will feature a custom bar and entertainment. 

Sunday, August 6

  John Ball Zoo
The zoo is located on the west side of Grand Rapids and is open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm and attracts people of all ages. Some of the main attractions that bring people to John Ball are touching stingrays, feeding parakeets, and going on camel rides.

  Nitro Circus
Fifth Third Ballpark
7:00pm - 10:00pm

The world’s most extreme action sports show is coming to Grand Rapids on August 6th. This event was founded by legendary motorsports athlete and stuntman, Travis Pastrana. It features tricks on platforms including freestyle motocross, mountain biking, BMX, skateboarding, incline skaters, scooters, and more. This event will take place at Fifth Third Ballpark, home of the West Michigan Whitecaps from 7-10 pm.
